Windsurfing Courses
Windsurfing is an exhilarating sport - but in order to experience the speed and adrenaline the sport can deliver you're going to have to learn the ropes. The Best way is through a structured windsurfing course.
The country you take the course in will probably dictate the type of windsurfing course. In the UK the RYA govern windsurfing courses and accreditations and in France it's FFvoile. Courses range from 2 day weekend courses (like RYA Level 1) to more comprehensive 4-5 day courses.
What's will you learn on your Windsurfing Course?
Generally windsurfing courses are divided into 2 broad categories - beginners and advanced windsurfing courses. The primary focus of a beginners windsurfing course should be to introduce the basic elements of windsurfing that will enable you to sail and
turn around confidently and safely.
Advanced courses are designed to progress your knowledge, understanding and skill. Typically divided into sections concentrating on beach start training, harness training, jibe and tack training.
If a surf instructor refers to you as a grom don't be offended - (it means beginner surfer) and it's really a term of affection.
